Container damage assessment, surveys, repair and modification. Conditions are regularly monitored; repair, washing and damage management keep your containers ready for operations.

Working hours

Our Çatalca and Gebze yards are open Mon–Fri 08:00–18:00 and Sat 08:00–13:00. After-hours operations are arranged with advance planning.

EDI / CODECO Reporting

Gate-in and gate-out movements are reported automatically to your line's system as CODECO messages in the EDIFACT standard. Direct integration with your own software via API and SFTP is available.

Container storage is the dedicated placement of steel containers in a yard under controlled conditions. It plays a critical role in transport and warehousing, keeping goods safe, organized and ready for handling.

Our combined yard capacity is optimized for fast turnaround: short-term and long-term storage, in-yard movements, repair, washing and inventory reporting — all under one roof.

Container Storage in Istanbul and Turkey

Istanbul is Turkey's main container gateway, and yard space close to the ports is scarce and expensive. Çelikor operates more than 100,000 m² of container storage across two yards — Çatalca on the European side and Gebze in Kocaeli — giving shipping lines, agents, forwarders and cargo owners a reliable off-dock alternative.

Both yards sit within short trucking distance of the major terminals: Ambarli (Marport, Kumport, Mardas), Yilport, Evyap and Gemlik. That proximity keeps port-to-yard cycles short and predictable.

Where is your container depot in Istanbul?
Our main container yard is in Çatalca on the European side of Istanbul, minutes from the Ambarli port cluster (Marport, Kumport, Mardas). We operate a second yard in Gebze, Kocaeli, serving Yilport, Evyap and Gemlik. Our head office is in Büyükçekmece, Istanbul.
How big is your container yard?
We operate more than 100,000 m² of open and covered container storage across our Çatalca and Gebze yards. Ground conditions support stacking, and handling is done with forklifts and reach stackers.
Do you store empty containers?
Yes. Empty container depot service is one of our core operations. We hold buffer stock for shipping lines, agents and hauliers, and record every gate-in and gate-out movement.
Can you store laden (full) containers?
Yes. We store laden containers as well. Yard planning depends on cargo type and customs status, and can be combined with stuffing or unstuffing at our facility.
Why store outside the port?
Port storage is usually more expensive and comes with time pressure. An off-dock yard lowers your per-unit cost, removes demurrage stress and gives you flexibility on handling and scheduling.
Which container types do you handle?
We handle 20ft and 40ft DC, 40ft HC, 45ft HCPW and 49ft box containers, plus tank containers and swap-bodies. Reefer units require pre-planned power connections.
Do you collect containers from the port?
Yes. We pull containers from Ambarli (Marport, Kumport, Mardas), Yilport, Evyap and Gemlik and move them to our yard or straight to your facility.
What are your storage rates?
Rates depend on volume, container type, empty or laden status, duration and optional services such as haulage or handling. Long-term and high-volume agreements reduce the unit rate. Contact us with your details for a same-day written quote.
Is the yard secure?
Yes. Our yards are protected 24/7 with perimeter security, lighting and CCTV. Gate movements are logged and reported to you on request.
Do you provide survey, repair and washing?
Yes. Damage survey, repair and container washing are available at our yards, along with stuffing and unstuffing (handling) services.
Do you serve companies outside Istanbul?
Yes. Çatalca and Gebze are our operation centers, but we provide haulage nationwide across Turkey. Many of our customers are based elsewhere and use our yards as their Istanbul hub.
What are your gate hours?
Monday to Friday 08:00–18:00 and Saturday 08:00–13:00. Sunday and after-hours movements can be arranged with advance notice.
