Off-Dock Depot · European Side

Istanbul Container Depot

100,000 m² of off-dock container yards serving the Ambarlı port complex: empty stacking, laden storage with seal records, own trucking and 24/7 gate operations — run by a family company with 60 years in Turkish logistics.

Three yards, two port corridors

  • Çatalca — main depot, 80,000 m²: high-capacity stacking, reach-stacker park, laden ground area, ~1 km from the customs zone. Serves the Ambarlı corridor.
  • Büyükçekmece — HQ yard, 15,000 m²: short-haul pulls from Ambarlı terminals (Marport, Kumport, Mardaş), fast gate-in/gate-out work.
  • Gebze — 18,000 m²: Yılport and Evyap corridor on the Asian side, buffering the GOSB-TOSB industrial belt.

Depot services

  • Empty container depot: 3-4 high stacking, block areas for line and lessor fleets, seasonal capacity reservation.
  • Laden container storage: ground-level keeping with photographed seal records and full gate logs — a safe buffer while customs or vessel schedules run their course.
  • Port pulls & re-delivery: our own truck fleet collects from the terminal and re-delivers anywhere in Türkiye; one contractor, one invoice.
  • Surveys & handling: IICL-based condition surveys, handling per move, tank and swap-body units accepted.

Built for forwarders and lines

Every unit is registered by container number with photos and stack position; corporate clients follow gate moves in our online portal, with English reporting and EDI/CODECO messages available. For the full storage service overview see container storage in Istanbul; for trucking details see container transport.

FAQ

Istanbul depot — common questions

Where is your Istanbul container depot located?
We operate two yards on Istanbul's European side: our main depot in Çatalca (80,000 m², about 1 km from the customs zone) and our headquarters yard in Büyükçekmece (15,000 m²), both on the TEM-motorway axis serving the Ambarlı port complex. A third yard in Gebze (18,000 m²) covers the Yılport and Evyap port corridor.
Do you pull containers from Ambarlı port terminals?
Yes. Our own truck fleet collects containers from Marport, Kumport and Mardaş terminals at Ambarlı, stores them at our off-dock depot, and re-delivers to the port or to any address in Türkiye on request — one contractor, one invoice.
How are laden containers handled at the depot?
Laden units are kept at ground level with the seal number photographed and recorded on arrival and departure. Every gate move is logged; corporate clients can track their units through our online customer portal.
Why use an off-dock depot instead of port storage?
Port free time is short and daily port demurrage escalates quickly. Off-dock storage at our depot costs significantly less for the same waiting period, offers appointment-based access to your unit, and release is arranged within minutes by reference number.
Do you work with international forwarders?
Yes — freight forwarders, NVOCCs and shipping lines are our core clientele. We provide English-language reporting, EDI/CODECO gate messages on request, and 24/7 operations across all three yards.
